Bennsons Business Solutions specialise in DIY Management Systems including, workplace health and safety, training and development and human resources.
Regardless of what services or products your business provides, the structure of safety, training and human resources remain the same. While human resources, safety and training are seen as completely different functions of a business, many businesses do not use these functions as a successful trifecta, if at all. The trifecta manages people; their skills, competencies, behaviour, work performance and future in the business.
Businesses who can develop, manage and evaluate their own management systems are more independent and do not have to rely on external providers when implementing new policies, procedures or training staff - Do It Yourself
DIY Management Systems are not only cheaper, but they are "specific" to your workforce, location, work environment and your ever-changing business needs.
Workplace Health & Safety
Workplace health and safety has become re-active and is only visited when there has been an injury, illness or incident. Elimination and Prevention are my main focus, using the history and future to learn, improve and be proactive. While government authorities tell you what you must comply with and what penalties exist if you don't comply, they are not quick to tell you how to do it easily and cheaply.

Training & Development
As soon as people start talking about induction, training and competency you can immediately see some business owners panic. Luckily, training and development is very cheap and simple - as long as the foundations are built, training can be planned and scheduled long before it is needed. Safety and compliance is communicated through training so not only are people safer, they are better at their jobs.

Human Resources
Some businesses hire a "human resource" professional and expect nothing more than recruitment. There is so much more to HR and it is all modelled around safety and training. Recruiting the wrong person in the wrong role can cost a business enormously along with high turnover and lack of retention strategies. With so many different employee types (baby boomers, gen Y, gen X) traditional HR strategies just don't work. Have you ever wondered about current HR strategies? Guess what, people are still leaving!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Business Systems
All business systems should work together for one main goal - profit. Your business could develop the best product or service in the world, but if it is not marketed correctly, employees keep getting injured or you can't retain employees then you will see less success. Systems do not need to cost thousands of dollars, they can be managed through spreadsheets. Consultants fail to teach you your systems for one single purpose - you need them to come back over and over again.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Too Confusing?
If you Google business systems, safety, training, human resources or any other relevant key word you are bombarded with a plethora of information! Have you got time to read it all, understand it all and find out what information is right and what is plain rubbish? When I Google I am disappointed. Why? Because the information is not readily available, is very confusing and leaves people either thinking they are doing it right or simply not caring if they are doing it right.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Does the Cost Discourage You?
Again with Google, if you look up consultants or "out of the box" management systems the costs are unbelievable. You pay a consultant thousands of dollars and some of them just sell you something that was created for a completely different business, they take months to complete the work, the work is not that good or you have to keep paying them every time you want changes made. I believe the systems should be simple and easily taught.
