We just received our copy of this new book by Jessica Urquhart

After reading the initial description of the book: Workplace Health and Safety Management Systems – D.I.Y Guide offers practical, simple, compliant solutions in developing, implementing, maintaining, evaluating and managing your own systems – never outsource again! Do it Yourself! Don’t pay thousands of dollars for systems that may not fit your business, your risks and your people. Integrating Workplace Health and Safety, Human Resources and Training and Development management systems is very powerful in managing all people within your business, not just your workers. “Keeping people free from harm by identifying potential risks, putting controls in place to eliminate or prevent risk and evaluating the success of the controls”. Is your business ready for the new Workplace Health and Safety Act 2012?

We purchased a copy and thoroughly enjoyed reading every one of the 75 pages. The book is comprehensive yet succinct, written in plain English and provides a brilliant overview of what is required in a WHS Management System and how to set up one that will work in YOUR workplace. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for people at any level of an organisation who need to understand what the requirements of a safety system are under new harmonised legislation and who are involved in setting up a compliant system without relying on expensive consultants.

A brilliant book - simply and easy to read for people at any level in an organisation. At 75 pages you will get through it. A great resource for small business's, contractors, people new to WHS, WHS Committees or individual HSR's. It's practical yet covers the full implementation of a WHS system and the fit with other systems such as HR, Training and Workers Comp. The bottom line is....... great practical coverage of WHS, readable, useful and exceptional value at the price. But wait there's more - it even comes in soft copy!
